Meet Stella the Poodle and Shawm the Afghan Hound

The main cast of FurBabies is now complete. On to the show.

Stella the poodle and Shawm the Afghan Hound are introduced today, along with a family memory. My sister and I would regularly feed cooked carrots and dry hamburger to our dog when Mom was out of the room. The dog always managed to choke it down before Mom got back. Peaches had great eyesight until the day she died.

This is autobiographical… I really disliked cooked carrots. Dogs rarely need to be persuaded to eat anything, but Stella and Shawm are ‘different’. They are cartoons.

Since the FurBabies are 'real' dogs and cats, I have to be very careful that I don't have any foods or substances that might harm an actual pet in FurBabies. Kate eats plain vanilla cupcakes with butter frosting, or gingerbread. Chocolate is fatal to dogs and cats so it never appears here. Vanilla is safe. My dog always got her pills in either butter or peanut butter; my cats get theirs in butter.
