It is weird about writing syllables in word balloons for long-held notes in music. Ms. Beiman is of course right, for "Onnn" is the best answer, because writing "Oooon" gives the reader the impression that an "oo" vowel is being sung. Though of course repeating the "N" makes it appear as if the singer is stressing that consonant and not the vowel, but the reader simply understands that that is not so. At least this problem doesn't happen in animation--I don't think! I could see Walt Kelly having fun with that; one time Churchy LaFemme went around poking and deflating word balloons, because they were taking up too much space! I've never forgotten.

Walt Kelly was the best. He had the animator's eye for the comics, and a wicked sense of humor.

We never saw the parents in Peanuts, either (adults occasionally in the early years). It is plenty good seeing Kate and the crew.

Adults appear in the early Peanuts strips but only from the kids' point of view; that is to say, as legs. Peanuts got so much better when Schulz left the suburban-kid-joke themes and expanded the surrealism; first with Schroeder, then Snoopy.

I am staying "old school"...I enjoy working with chalk, water colors and pencils. I cut , trim, and position pieces on my card stock. I write my message and mail. Each card is made with the person in mind.

A hand made gift is the best one.

I noticed just yesterday that the apps I use have more AI involved with them. Ugh. I refuse to stop thinking for myself. To change the subject intentionally, I particularly love today's strip! So nice to see Boaty McBoatface again. The drawings are superlative and I am very excited to go to Magic Camp with Kate. :)
