Happy Bastille Day
Some old news and some new news
First the old: One of my favorite strips from 2024, for Bastille Day.
It’s also the only FurBabies strip to be translated into French. There was some interest in publishing the comic in a French magazine, but the offer never materialized.
Floof doesn’t speak fluent French, hence the misspelled word in panel 3.
I once got put in Facebook jail for saying that the French would be energetically conducting kinetic actions in the streets if certain actions were taken there.
I visited what was left of the Bastille when I lived in Paris. It was a couple of rocks, that’s all. The place had been demolished centuries before.
Now for the new news: I’m bringing the strip back on July 26. A story appeared inspired by two actual events, the characters returned, and away we go.
Bonne chance, citoyen.
here’s a catchy little tune to get us all in the mood:

Thanks to Patrick Mate for proofreading my French dialogue.
I hope you enjoyed the rest. By the way, July 26 is Liberia Independence Day. The reason I would know this is because I spent two years in the Peace Corps there teaching (12/1974 to 12/1976).
