So, here's how it played out. I had a spectacular coughing jag during which I blacked out a bit. We to ER. Atypical pneumonia. By golly, I got those antibiotics, lol.
I'm doing a lot better on the amoxycillin, although still not out of the woods completely. My original doctor said I don't need a 'second course'. I agreed, since that would increase the possibility of baterial resistance to the drug. I'll spend Thanksgiving weekend drawing cartoons and resting up after the course ends. Thank you for your kind words.
I have a doctor who has no problem sending me for every kind of test except for the obvious one that, in my opinion, should have been done first. Like you, I am ready for a new doctor. I have had some kind of respiratory thing for years that flares up wantonly, especially if I have something nice planned. I am through begging. Thanks for inspiration.
I went to a new doctor. He took one listen to the chest noises (which are ALL over my lungs, not in the bronchii) and said "You have a chest infection, and it is obvious that you need antibiotics." I now have Amoxicillin and will be better in seven days. It's just a shame that I did not see him last week, I would be in Montreal now. I'm transferring to his practice next week.
It turns out that a Spanish sausage, Cecina de Leon, is cured with medical penicillin. The cheeses use a different variety. Fortunately the sausage is available in Toronto. Wish me luck! At least I get to try some new flavors.

Get well soon.
I'm sorry you've been ill and had to miss the symposium in Montreal. Hope the cheese helps clear up your bronchitis!
