You are right! Why change something that was still somewhat functional? I am sad they prohibited the use of links and images by the commenters. If they wanted a better version, why not have brought those two back?
I’m happy to subscribe, but I’m definitely not happy with this change. If I’d wanted a list of images I can’t interacted with, I’d just read the email they send me!
It’s interesting that you say you have more followers here. And a bit of a worry for a site like go comics. I wonder why that is. I have more followers of Arctic Circle on the King Features website (comics Kingdom) but I have more engagement on Substack. So hard to figure out the reasoning for all these things and I guess the best thing is not to over analyse it but to keep trying to do good work. Which I think you do.
thank you so much. I will follow Arctic Circle on Comics Kingdom.
The new GoComics update is progressive, they tell me. I've gotten 35 new followers since the changeover, so those were not 'inactive' accounts. Thank you for the kind remarks.
I looked at the new GoComics website today (I kept getting error messages yesterday). They claim the artists will be paid more; I hope so, but it’s much harder to “like” a strip, because that option doesn’t show on the (paid) feed. I’d have to click through to each individual comic to “like” it. That would be extremely time consuming! Today I only liked a few, including FurBabies and Breaking Cat News.
Also, apparently non-paid readers can only see three comics at a time, so I wonder if that’s part of the issue with dropped followers.
I hope they work the bugs out soon! And, I really hope they make good on their claim that the changes will help compensate the artists more.
Also, you might want to update your message here about subscribing, since the price went up. (I’m not irate about that, since it hasn’t gone up in years; but a smaller hike would have been nice.)
Thank you, Ellen. Creators at GoComics are paid by the amount of likes, visits, and followers they have. All of them have been affected by this change, and I'm not sure who will get paid more. I am seriously considering taking other measures, which will be announced here.

It appears that you can link to strips. Maybe they fixed that bug already.
For example: https://www.gocomics.com/furbabies/2025/03/29
I am unable to link to a specific daily strip. How did you manage this? Thank you.

Thanks for sharing your art with us!
