What a delight. Love the snippy tour docent anecdote. That’s when I would have slipped away to explore on my own since I’m not confrontational. Glad you had fun. Will search out your cartoon strip.

the docent seemed to resent lecturing a group of Boomers and had a chip on her shoulder the size of the Empire State Building. I am a lot less confrontational now than I was when I was younger. Back then, I would have simply walked away and done as I pleased.

What a weird trip. Hidden maps, and scolding tour guides. I can only imagine how the fur babies themselves would have responded, lol. But at least you got to meet friends and colleagues.

It was a nice trip away. I'm back at work now, and catching up. Posts will be a little infrequent here until I make up for lost time, but it'll be worth the wait!

Brownie points will be awarded to whoever 'gets' the very obscure reference to a very obscure film in the title of this post. It involves a bus and one of my favorite comedians who is not Jackie Gleason. We actually took 'his' route to get to La Jolla Cove.

SAN DIEGO I LOVE YOU is an obscure 1946 film costarring Buster Keaton as a bored bus driver who changes his route to 'go along the beach'. The passengers, and the driver, have their lives changed by this ride.
